ImpressBIND: Binding the easy way
With impressBIND 280, Leitz has found a solution that makes professional binding easier and more attractive than it’s ever been. You can see the main
advantage at first glance: impressive binding results that only a professional bookbinder could normally achieve. In just a few steps, you can hold a perfectly bound document of up to 280 pages in your hands. Just insert the paper, press it together and it’s ready.
The bound paper holds together securely – without perforating or gluing.
Speed
The quickest and system of them all as it only need 2 processes
1.) insert paper
2.) press to have a final document.
Simple
Very simple to use, just insert the paper in the cover and press
Strong
When bound, the papers never come loose
Safe
No punching, no glue is needed… the binding machine actually never touches the paper that is being bound
Elegant look
Looks like a real professional binding system (that it is actually done by professionals)
De-binding
If you have made a mistake or you are updating the document, you can easily re-open the cover and insert/take out pages.
wireBIND
When wire binding, the sheets first need to be punched. They are then subsequently inserted into a pre-manufactured wire comb. The closing (bending together) of the wire comb constitutes the last step.
2:1 and 3:1 pitches have become established for wire binding. In the case of the 2:1 pitch (two punch holes per inch), the hole interval is 12.7 mm, and in the case of the 3:1 pitch (three punch holes per inch), it is 8.47 mm. In addition, wire combs for these different pitches are available in a variety of colours.
In order to ensure sufficient stability, the wire becomes thicker the higher the diameter of the wire comb is.
comBIND
It is also first necessary to punch sheets when comb binding. In order to be able to insert these easily, the plastic comb is inserted into a device that keeps it open. The plastic comb closes by itself as soon as it is released by the device.
Plastic combs are very durable and can practically be opened and closed as often as required in order to remove or insert sheets. They are capable of bearing printing and are available in a variety of colours.
Larger plastic combs, starting from a diameter of around 32 mm, have additional securing straps that help to prevent undesirable opening in the case of a large number of sheets.
thermoBIND
Thermo binding, like the various clamping techniques, has the advantage that sheets do not need to be punched.
During this process, a hot sealing adhesive that is incorporated into the pre-manufactured folder and is caused to melt using the binding equipment ensures that pages are held together as required.
Thermo binding is relatively simple and economical to accomplish, but is inferior to the other processes in terms of its wear resistance (frequent paging).
slideBIND
During this very simple method of binding, a plastic bar holds sheets together. The big advantage here is that the sheets are not damaged.
As a result, even one-off documents like contracts, certificates or also high-quality brochures can be presented in an appealing form and then removed again without damage.
Slide binders are available in a variety of colours and holding capacities of up to 130 sheets. In addition, sets that include cover sheets and covers are available.
